Add a new FEM component from a Mode Set to an assembly FEM

  1. Open or create an assembly FEM.Set the Solver to Nastran, and the Analysis Type to Structural or Vibro-Acoustic.

  2. On the Ribbon bar, on the Acoustics and Vibration tab, select Mode Set.If the Acoustics and Vibration tab is not visible, right-click on a blank area of the ribbon bar and select the Acoustics and Vibration .

  3. In the Mode Set dialog box, in the Data Source Group, select the Mode Set. Browse to the file or directory as needed. .

  4. In the Mode Set dialog box select the Modes to include in the Mode Set.

If the Mode Set or FRF Set contains PLOTEL elements, these elements will be displayed.Visualization Elements — Displays the nodes of the model and any PLOTEL elements. For more information, see Displaying alternate FEM representations.

  6. Click OK.

  7. The Mode Set appears in the Simulation Navigator.

  8. Expand the Mode Set node.

  9. Right-click the Mode Set you just added, and choose Add as Component. The Mode Set will be added to the assembly FEM as a component and the Mode Set will be displayed in the Graphics window. Note: The Mode Set component FEM will be placed at the model origin and no component FEM rotation will be applied. You can move or orient the Mode Set using Move Component command.
