Beam

Use the Beam physical property table to define a non-structural mass for 0D axisymmetric or 1D beam elements in your model. This physical property table is available in Simcenter 3D Thermal/Flow, Simcenter 3D Electronic Systems Cooling, and Simcenter 3D Space Systems Thermal.

You can use the non-structural mass to model additional mass for thermal capacitance calculations. For example, a long beam-like member may have regularly spaced protrusions which add thermal capacitance but are otherwise irrelevant to the model.

Note:

The solver uses thermal capacitance only for transient analysis.
