Sensors

Sensors are created when you import structural or acoustic test solutions.

In a structural test solution, each test node is a sensor with up to 3 translational degrees of freedom (DOFs): X Axis or DOF1, Y Axis or DOF2, and Z Axis or DOF3. In an acoustic test solution, each test node is a sensor with one scalar pressure DOF.

Note:

Because the software does not currently support rotational DOFs for correlation, all rotational DOFs are hidden.

Managing sensors

You can perform the following actions on sensors in a correlation solution process:

  • Clone the initially-imported test sensors and sensor sets to modify their DOFs. You cannot modify the initial test sensor set.

  • Activate and deactivate DOFs for a specified sensor in the cloned sensor set.

  • Specify a positive or negative direction for structural DOFs for a specified sensor in the cloned sensor set.

  • Activate the desired sensor set for the correlation solution.

  • Create a matching DOF set so that you can use it elsewhere in your Simulation.
