Selecting the superelement to recover (Simcenter Samcef)

You can select the superelement to recover in two different ways. From the Superelement Selection Method list:

• You can use the File and Name option to select both the Simcenter Samcef superelement creation database file and the Simcenter Samcef superelement use results file.

• You can use the In Current Session option to select in your current model both the superelement and the solution where it was used.

File and Name

Select File and Name from the Superelement Selection Method list to select the superelement to recover through external files. Then:

• In the File Name using Superelement group, enter the full path and file name of the file containing the results (Simcenter Samcef *.des file) of the computation in which you used the superelement or click Browse to navigate to and select the file.

• As the solution you point to in step 1 may contain several superelements, you need to provide in the Simcenter Samcef Superelement Name property the exact name of the superelement to recover.

• In the Superelement Creation File, enter the full path and file name of the file containing the creation database (Simcenter Samcef *.sdb file) of the superelement you want to recover or click Browse to navigate to and select the file.

In Current Session

Select In Current Session from the Superelement Selection Method list to select the superelement to recover in the current model. Then:

• Use the Select Superelement selector to choose in your model the FEM containing the superelement that you want to recover.

• Use the Solution Using the Superelement list to select the solution in which you use the superelement that you want to recover.
