Model and Load Pre-processing
Model and Load Pre-processing in the Simulation Navigator
After you start a Model and Load Pre-processing solution process, the Simulation Navigator provides several nodes to assist you with the solution process. For example, you can start a solution process to transform data from external files to Simcenter Nastran loads or to apply pressure loads based on a turbulent boundary layer model on a specific region of your model. For information about other areas of the Simulation Navigator, see Simulation Navigator overview.
| Model and Load Pre-processing | Model and Load Pre-processing solution process nodeThe Description column for each Model and Load Pre-processing solution process displays Model and Load Pre-processing. |
|---|---|
| Input File Export Surface - Face to Vertex Map | Input File nodeAppears when you reference an external result file. This node also contains one Export Surface - Face to Vertex Map node when you:Right-click the Input File node and choose Load Intermediary Mesh.Right-click a Mesh Mapping Data node in the Mesh Mapping container and choose Edit.Note: The intermediary mesh is contained in the imported result file and is displayed in the work view. |
| Mesh Mapping Mesh Mapping Data | Mesh Mapping and Mesh Mapping Data nodesAppear after you reference an external result file and right-click a Model and Load Pre-processing node→Add Operation→Mesh Mapping.Note: You can map more than one mesh, which results in more than one Mesh Mapping Data node. |
| Fan Noise Segmentation | Fan Noise Segmentation nodeAppears after you reference an external result file and right-click a Model and Load Pre-processing node→Add Operation→Fan Noise Segmentation. |
| Time to Waterfall of Time | Time to Waterfall of Time nodeAppears after you reference an external result file and right-click a Model and Load Pre-processing node→Add Operation→Time to Waterfall of Time. |
| Time Signal Processing | Time Signal Processing nodeAppears after you reference an external result file and right-click a Model and Load Pre-processing node→Add Operation→Time Signal Processing. |
| Pressure to Force | Pressure to Force nodeAppears after you reference an external file and map a mesh. Also appears if you create a turbulent boundary layer model for loading, and right-click a Model and Load Pre-processing node→Add Operation→Pressure to Force.Opens the Pressure to Force dialog box. |
| Turbulent Boundary Layer Model | Turbulent Boundary Layer Model nodeAppears when you right-click a Model and Load Pre-processing node→Add Load→Turbulent Boundary Layer Model.Opens the Turbulent Boundary Layer dialog box. |
Different commands are available depending on which node you right-click in the Simulation Navigator and on previous operations. For example, the Input File command only appears when the solution process does not already contain an Input File or Turbulent Boundary Layer Model node.
Model and Load Pre-processing commands
The following additional commands appear when you right-click the Model and Load Pre-processing solution process container.
| Icon | Command name | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Add Load | Lets you choose the Input File or Turbulent Boundary Layer Model command. | |
| Add Operation | Lets you choose the Mesh Mapping, Fan Noise Segmentation, Time to Waterfall of Time, Time Signal Processing, or Pressure to Force commands.Note: Pressure to Force appears after you add an external file or a turbulent boundary layer model for loading. | |
| Clone | Lets you clone the solution process. | |
| Validate | Available when the Model and Load Pre-processing container contains the following nodes:Input File and Mesh Mapping, Fan Noise Segmentation, Time to Waterfall of Time, or Time Signal Processing.Turbulent Boundary Layer Model and Pressure to Force. | |
| Solve | Available when the Model and Load Pre-processing container contains the following nodes:Input File and Mesh Mapping, Fan Noise Segmentation, Time to Waterfall of Time, or Time Signal Processing.Turbulent Boundary Layer Model and Pressure to Force. | |
| Post-Processing Scenario | Available with results from a solved Model and Load Pre-processing solution.Lets you visualize these pre-processed results with a preconfigured post-processing view. | |
| Create Load Recipe from Results | Available with results from a solved Model and Load Pre-processing solution.Lets you create a load recipe from these pre-processed results. The load recipe appears in the Load Recipe Container. |
Input File commands
The following commands appear when you right-click the Input File node in the Simulation Navigator.
| Icon | Command name | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Load Intermediary Mesh | Loads the mesh associated with the imported result file. | |
| Unload Intermediary Mesh | Unloads the mesh associated with the imported result file. | |
| Post-Processing Scenario | Creates a data source of the imported result file and lets you visualize the data source in a preconfigured post-processing view. |
Export Surface 1 - Face to Vertex Map command
The following command appears when you right-click the Export Surface - Face to Vertex Map node in the Simulation Navigator.
| Icon | Command name | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Flip Display | Changes the visibility of the mesh. Hides the mesh in the work view when it is visible and shows the mesh when it is not visible. |
Mesh Mapping command
The following command appears when you right-click the Mesh Mapping node in the Simulation Navigator.
| Icon | Command name | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Add Mesh Mapping Data | Maps regions between intermediary meshes or an intermediary mesh and a model mesh, such as a structural mesh. |
