Creating a transient event
Using the Transient Event command, you create a transient load event that lets you manage the stress or strain time history that you imported from a transient solution. Create a transient event includes:
Importing the transient stress or strain results from a finite element result file, or selecting a solved solution in the current Simulation file to retrieve the transient results.
Managing the list the transient subcases and specify the time steps for creating the transient load event.
Optionally assigning a temperature source load to the transient load event.
You can use the transient load event for complex geometrical or material non-linearities that cannot be approximated by linear superposition. The finite element solver calculates the stresses/strains for each time step. For example, you can choose to create a transient load event for rotating components, such as rims, where each load step may correspond to the rotation of the component by 360°/n degrees. In this case, a full rotation corresponds to the transient series of these rotational steps.
