Quality Metrics scenario

The Quality Metrics scenario is an acoustics post-processing scenario that you can use to assess:

  • Computational effort and contribution of an element order associated with a frequency response analysis (SOL 108 and SOL 111) using the Simcenter Nastran FEM Adaptive Order method.

  • Coupling quality associated with an MATV or ATV response analysis in a Simcenter 3D Noise and Vibration solution.

Computational effort and contribution of an element order

You can visualize the following with the Quality Metrics scenario in an XY plot:

  • Analysis time for each frequency

  • Memory allocated for each frequency

  • Contribution of each element order to the result at a selected frequency

You can visualize the order of each element at a selected frequency in a contour plot.

Coupling quality

You can visualize the following Coupling Quality values with the Quality Metrics scenario in a 3D post view:

  • Coupling quality between structural coupled and uncoupled faces

  • Coupling quality between fluid coupled and uncoupled nodes

  • Distance between structural and fluid coupled faces

(1) Structural Coupled Faces (Distance), (2) Structured Coupled and Uncoupled Faces, and (3) Fluid Coupled and Uncoupled Nodes 3D post views of an MATV response solution with Nastran MPFs

Parameters

The following table lists the parameters available for defining Quality Metrics post-processing scenarios in an acoustic solution. They appear in the Parameters node of the Scenario Based Data-Visualization Navigator.

Parameter Description
Element Order Contribution Plots the contribution of each element order to the result at a selected frequency.
Order Per Element Displays the order of each element at a selected frequency in a contour plot.
Time Per Frequency Plots the analysis time used for each frequency.
Memory Per Frequency Plots the memory used during the analysis for each frequency.
