Set up the environment for report writing

Set the location of custom report templates and add the report commands to support them

  1. Choose FileUtilitiesCustomer Defaults.

  2. In the Customer Defaults dialog box, select SimulationPre/PostReport.

  3. In the General tab in the Site Template Directory group, specify the location of the report templates. The default path is **$UGII_BASE_DIR\simulation\report\report_templates** where $UGI_BASE_DIR is the installation location for this software.

  4. Click OK.

  5. Copy your custom report templates to the site template location you selected in step 3.

  6. Import the report commands necessary to support the report templates.

Set the Java Runtime Environment

You must use the 64-bit Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version 8 or later.

  2. Set the following environment variables, either in your ugii_env.dat file or using the Override Java Parameters command to override them for your current installation:UGII_JVM_LIBRARY_DIR= [path to the \bin\server folder in the JRE installation]UGII_JVM_OPTIONS=-Xmx64M

Set customer defaults for capturing snapshots

  1. Choose FileUtilitiesCustomer Defaults.

  2. In the Customer Defaults dialog box, select SimulationPre/PostReport.

  3. In the Image tab, set the following:Under Capture Options, set the snapshot file type. You can take snapshots in .tif, .png, .gif, or .jpg formats.(Optional) Select the Use White background check box so all snapshots use a white background In the Size section, select the default size of an image, including the rotation angle. You can override the default size of an image.

  4. Click OK.

Set customer defaults for generating reports

Use the Customer Defaults dialog box to set up the software (usually Microsoft Word) to view reports, whether to save the report in Teamcenter if you are using NX or Simcenter 3D in managed mode, and whether to hide report items that do not require user input.

You can also set report writing preferences as you create and publish reports.

  1. Choose FileUtilitiesCustomer Defaults.

  2. In the Customer Defaults dialog box, select SimulationPre/PostReport.

  3. (Optional) To override the associated file type program for .docx files (usually Microsoft Word), in the Program Location for Viewing a Published Report section, specify the program.

  4. Select the Save Report Document in Teamcenter check box to save the file in Teamcenter, if you are using NX or Simcenter 3D in managed mode.

  5. Select the Hide Template Items without User Input check box to view only items that require user input in the Report node of the Simulation Navigator.Note: You can override this option when creating a report.

  6. Click OK.
