Teamcenter Integration for Simulation > Synchronize Teamcenter model structures with assembly FEMs

Update pending changes to an assembly FEM

Note:

Before you open an assembly FEM that has been modified in Teamcenter, ensure that Enable Dialog Box to Manage Pending CAE Components is selected in your customer defaults:

  1. In the Teamcenter Navigator, navigate to or search for the CAD product structure that the model structure is related to. Right-click the CAD item revision and choose Open. The CAD assembly opens in the Modeling application, and the Assembly Navigator appears.

  2. In the Resource Bar, click the Teamcenter Navigator tab.

  3. Navigate to or search for the CAEModel revision that references the assembly FEM.

  4. Right-click the CAEModel revision and choose Open. The Information window appears, displaying a message similar to the following:There are new components to be positioned. In order to position these new components, set the work part to this part. Use the Assemblies -> Components -> Manage Pending Components command or the Simulation Navigator command "Manage AFEM Components". Note: Do not use the Manage Pending Components command. This command is intended only for working with CAD assemblies. The assembly FEM opens in the Pre/Post application. If any CAEModel revisions have been removed from the model structure, the corresponding component FEM is new removed from the AFEM, and the CAD component status reads Ignored. If any CAEModel revisions have been added to the model structure, you must use the Manage AFEM Components command to update the assembly FEM.

  5. In the Simulation Navigator, right-click the assembly FEM node and choose Manage AFEM Components.

  6. In the Manage AFEM Components dialog box, in the table, expand the root node to view pending components. Existing component FEMs that are up to date are shown with a gray check box, and you cannot select them. Select any pending components to add.

  7. (Optional) For any selected components created from a solver bulk data file, clear the check box in the Bodies column to create a FEM with no polygon bodies.

  8. (Optional) For any selected components with a relation to a CAD item revision, clear the check box in the Map CAD column if you do not want the CAD component position to drive the FEM component position. With Map CAD unchecked, the new component FEM is positioned based on the Teamcenter transformation matrix or the WCS origin.

  9. If the pending components represent CAEModel revisions with the referenced FEM file, in the FEM Environment group, select a Template from the list, or specify the Solver and Analysis Type. This specifies the solver language for the FEM files, and, if any CAEModel revisions reference bulk mesh data, specify the translator used to import meshes.

  10. Click OK.The software creates any new FEM files and generates polygon bodies from the associated CAD files. It maps added FEM files to the corresponding CAD parts based on Teamcenter relations. If any added CAEModel revisions reference mesh bulk data, the meshes are imported using the specified solver language. Teamcenter adds the appropriate datasets and relations to the Teamcenter database when you save your data in Pre/Post.You can modify the resulting assembly FEM structure in Pre/Post as needed. When you save your files and exit the software, the resulting modifications are reflected in the Teamcenter model structure.
