Thermal material properties (Simcenter Samcef)

To create a Simcenter Samcef thermal material, you define the thermal material properties in either the Isotropic or Orthotropic dialog box.

  • In the Isotropic Material dialog box, you define:Mass Density (RHO) (Samcef M parameter). On the Thermal page, Thermal Conductivity (Samcef COND parameter) and Specific Heat (Samcef CAPA parameter). These properties can depend on the temperature, the degree of cure, or the glass transition temperature.

  • In the Orthotropic Material dialog box, you define:Mass Density (RHO) (Samcef M parameter). On the Thermal page, Thermal Conductivity (Samcef COND parameter) and Specific Heat (Samcef CAPA parameter). These properties can depend on the temperature, the degree of cure, or the glass transition temperature.

A .MAT BEHAV "THERMAL" entry is output to the Simcenter Samcef input file.

For more information, see the thermal material page in the Simcenter Samcef solver documentation.
