Cyclic Symmetry dialog box (Simcenter Samcef)
| Type | |
|---|---|
| Type | Specifies the type of cyclic symmetry. |
| Name | |
| Name | Sets the name of the cyclic symmetry condition that appears in the Simulation Navigator under the Simulation Objects Container node. |
| Description | Sets the description. |
| Destination Folder | |
| Simulation Objects Container | Specifies the folder in the Simulation Navigator in which the cyclic symmetry condition is stored. The list includes the root container and existing folders that you created using the New Folder command. |
| Automatic Face Pair Creation | |
| Appears when Type is set to Automatic Cyclic Symmetry Pairing. | |
| Face Pairs | Lets you select the faces to pair. For more information, see Create Automatic Face Pairs dialog box. |
| Source Region (Slave) | |
| Appears when Type is set to Manual Cyclic Symmetry. | |
| Source Region | Lets you select the Source Region of the cyclic condition. For more information on the Samcef Regions, see Region dialog box (Simcenter Samcef). |
| Target Region (Master) | |
| Appears when Type is set to Manual Cyclic Symmetry. | |
| Target Region | Lets you select a Target Region of the cyclic condition. For more information on the Samcef Regions, see Region dialog box (Simcenter Samcef). |
| Model Objects | |
| Appears when Type is set to Automatic Cyclic Symmetry From 3D Elements. | |
| Group Reference | Lets you select a group of 3D elements. For more information, see Group Reference options. |
| Select Object | Lets you select elements.Excluded lets you remove individual entities from your selected object. |
| Swap Regions | |
| Appears when Type is set to Manual Cyclic Symmetry. | |
| Swap Regions | Lets you swap defined regions. |
| Direction | |
| Override CSYS | Lets you define a revolution cylindrical coordinate system for the simulation object. |
| CSYS | Appears when the Override CSYS check box is selected. You can select the Global Cyclic Analysis coordinate system (globally defined in the FEM), or you can create a new User-Defined Cylindrical coordinate system. |
| Local | Appears when CSYS is set to User-Defined Cylindrical.Click CSYS Dialog to use the CSYS dialog box to create the coordinate system. |
| Tolerances | |
| Appears when Type is set to Manual Cyclic Symmetry. When Type is set to Automatic Cyclic Symmetry Pairing, appears in the Automatic Face Pair Creation dialog box when you select Face Pairs . | |
| Distance Tolerance Angle Tolerance | When you define the Source Region and the Target Region, the software automatically computes the values for the revolution Angle and the Calculated Number of Segments in the Segment Properties group. You can set the Distance Tolerance and the Angle Tolerance tolerances to refine this automatic computation. If you change the values for Distance Tolerance and Angle Tolerance, you must click Update Segments Properties to recompute the values in the Segment Properties group. For more details, see Automatically computing the number of segments for cyclic symmetry conditions (Simcenter Samcef). |
| Segment Properties | |
| Appears when Type is set to Manual Cyclic Symmetry or Automatic Cyclic Symmetry From 3D Elements. When Type is set to Automatic Cyclic Symmetry Pairing, appears in the Automatic Face Pair Creation dialog box when you select Face Pairs . | |
| Angle | Specifies the revolution angle. When Type is set to Manual Cyclic Symmetry, Read Only appears next to this box to indicate that this is an automatically computed value. When Type is set to Automatic Cyclic Symmetry From 3D Elements, this box appears when the Override Number of Segments check box is selected. If you set this value, leave the Number of Segments (NS) box empty. |
| Calculated Number of Segments | Appears when Type is set to Manual Cyclic Symmetry.Displays the calculated number of segments.Read Only appears next to this box to indicate that this is an automatically computed value. |
| Override Number of Segments | Lets you manually redefine the number of segments for this simulation object. |
| Number of Segments (NS) | Available when the Override Number of Segments check box is selected. When Type is set to Manual Cyclic Symmetry, sets the number of segments that will override the Calculated Number of Segments value. Note: The number of segments of the cyclic symmetry simulation object must be compatible with the one defined in the mesh collector. If Otherwise, an error appears during the Model Setup Check at export. When Type is set to Automatic Cyclic Symmetry From 3D Elements, sets the number of segments. If you set a value, leave the Angle box empty. When Type is set to Automatic Cyclic Symmetry Pairing, Read Only appears next to this box to indicate that this is an automatically computed value. |
| Update Segment Properties | Available when Type is set to Manual Cyclic Symmetry, both Source Region and Target Region are defined, and the Override Number of Segments check box is cleared. If you change the value for Distance Tolerance or Angle Tolerance, you must click Update Segments Properties to recompute the values for Angle and Calculated Number of Segments. |
| Projection Parameters | |
| Projection Allowed (PROJ) | Activates the projection procedure.Clear this check box to prevent the projection. For more information, see the PROJ parameter of the Samcef .ZYG command. |
| Normal Distance (PRECN) | Lets you define the normal distance threshold for the projection.Note: Samcef automatically computes a default for this distance if omitted. For more information, see the PRECN parameter of the Samcef .ZYG command. |
| Tangential Distance (PRECT) | Lets you define the tangential distance threshold or the projection.Note: Samcef automatically computes a default for this distance if omitted. For more information, see the PRECT parameter of the Samcef .ZYG command. |
| Boundary Condition Generation | |
| Appears when Type is set to Automatic Cyclic Symmetry Pairing. | |
| Associate to Automatic Pair Recipe | Specifies whether automatically generated pairs are associated with the automatic pair recipe. The automatic pair recipe is the set of parameters in the Create Automatic Face Pairs dialog box that determines how to compute and group face pairs. When you select this check box, the generated pairs appear in the Simulation Navigator with the prefix Auto. If you update the master part, the software recalculates the face pairs and updates the boundary condition. When you clear this check box, the generated contact pairs are not associated with the face pair recipe. If the master model changes, the contact pairs are not updated. These pairs behave the same as manually created pairs. |
| Ancillary Display | |
