Samcef environment > Simcenter Samcef import
Append finite element data to a model (Simcenter Samcef)
With a FEM or Simulation file as the work part, choose File→Append.Note: If the FEM is the work part, only FEM entities (elements, materials, physical properties, and so on) are appended to the current model. If the Simulation file is the work part, boundary conditions and simulation objects are appended in addition to the FEM entities.
In the Solver Deck Append dialog box, define the label offsets to apply when importing Simcenter Samcef entities, and then click OK.
In the Samcef File Import dialog box, on the File - Analysis tab, select the file to import. You can import a model from a Simcenter Samcef .dat plain text bank file or from a Simcenter Samcef .sdb binary database.
In the Input File Units group, select the units system to use.
In the Analysis and Solution group, select the Simcenter Samcef analysis defined in the model. You can do one of the following:Append Samcef structural data to a model with a structural Analysis type.Append Samcef thermal data to a model with a thermal Analysis typeYou do not have to define the Solution Type because the imported data is automatically added to the active solution of the current Simulation file.
In the Options and Solver parameters tabs, define the other import options.
Click OK to import the Simcenter Samcef model to the current FEM and/or Simulation files.
