Solve for the modal model

After you have fully defined your FE model, including excitation locations, any loads, constraints, and other boundary conditions, you can solve the response dynamics solution to generate the modal model.

Note:

Make sure you have defined solution options as described in Define Response Dynamics result types. If you do not create a Structural Output Request in the Dynamics subcase, the Simcenter Nastran solve will not generate the modes necessary for the Response Dynamics solution process.

  • In the Simulation Navigator, right-click the Solution node and choose Solve.

The Analysis Job Monitor appears. When the analysis is complete, a Results node appears in the Simulation Navigator and the job monitor status changes to Completed. For more information about the solving procedure, see Solving models.

You can now view the generated mode shapes.
