Define acoustic properties of fluids with CFD results

This procedure shows how you can use the results from a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis to define the acoustic properties for the fluid in a Simcenter Nastran SOL 108 or 111 acoustic or vibro-acoustic analysis. The procedure consists of four main tasks:

  1. Create a model and load pre-processing solution process.

  2. Select the CGNS file that contains the CFD results that you want to use to define the acoustic properties of the fluid.

  3. Map the data in the CGNS file from the node (or element centroid) locations in the CFD mesh to the node locations in the FE or FEMAO mesh and write the mapped data to a SCH5 file.

  4. Create an acoustic temperature mapping simulation object that retrieves the mapped data from the SCH5 file and uses it to define the acoustic properties of the fluid.
