Abaqus attributes for time-dependent fields

You can use the Application Data command to apply Abaqus attributes to fields that depend on time. The options correspond to the Time parameter of the *AMPTITUDE keyword.

You can apply the attributes when you:

  • Define a field.

  • Use a field in a boundary condition, such as Force or Pressure.

When you export the simulation, the attributes are applied.

The Time parameter provides arbitrary time variations of load, displacement, and other prescribed variable magnitudes to be applied throughout a step. Amplitudes defined as functions of time can be in terms of:

  • Step time.

  • Total time accumulated over all non-perturbation analysis steps.

If you change an existing field expression that has application data associated with it in a way that makes that application type no longer available, the software automatically deletes the data.

Depending on the type of data in the field, more than one application may be available. For example, signal processing application data may be available if the field also depends on frequency data.
