Create a universal connection

1. Mesh the parts that you want to connect, and make sure the FEM file is the displayed and work part.Note: You can create universal connections before you mesh the target flanges. But, you must mesh the connecting flanges before you can realize (mesh) the connections.

2. Choose Home tab→Universal Connections group→More and click the type of connection you want.

3. In the corresponding connection dialog box, choose the folder in which you want to store the connection and set the connection properties.

4. Click OK when finished.The connection is created and ready to be realized (meshed). For more information, see Realize (mesh) universal connections.

Edit a universal connection

1. In the Simulation Navigator, under the Universal Connections container, edit the connection in one of the following ways:Double-click the connection.Right-click the connection and choose Edit.

2. In the corresponding connection dialog box, make the changes as required.

3. Click OK or Apply to accept the changes.

4. After you update a connection, synchronize the universal connection with the element connections by choosing Home tab→Context group→Update.In the Simulation Navigator, all connections with the Not realized status are updated and their status changes to Up-to-date.

Note:

When you delete a universal connection, the elements associated with that connection are also deleted.
