Create an excitation set for a dynamic response analysis (Simcenter Samcef)
Use this procedure to create a Transient Excitation Set for a Linear Transient Response Analysis, or a Frequency Excitation Set for a Linear Harmonic Response Analysis.
Make the simulation file the work part and the displayed part.
In the Simulation Navigator, right-click Solver Sets and choose New→Transient Excitation Set or Frequency Excitation Set.
In the Transient Excitation Set or Frequency Excitation Set dialog box, enter a name for the excitation set.
In the Load Set group, do one of the following: To automatically create a load set named Load Set (General) and assign it to this excitation set, select the Automatic Creation check box.To select an existing load set to assign to this excitation set, clear the Automatic Creation check box and select a load set from the list.To create a load set later, clear the Automatic Creation check box and select None from the list.To create a new load set, click Load Set .
For a Frequency Excitation Set, do the following:From the Excitation Field list, select the type of field you want to create and complete the corresponding options. If you are creating a new formula field or table field, see Formula fields or Table fields for more information.(Optional) In the Phase group, in the Phase box, enter a value or select an expression or function.(Optional) In the Cyclic Symmetry group, in the Function box, enter a value or select an expression or function.
For a Transient Excitation Set, do the following:In the Excitation box, enter a formula, or click to select an existing field or create a new field, function, or expression.(Optional) In the Cyclic Symmetry group, in the Function box, enter a value or click to select an existing field or create a new field, function, or expression. For information on setting the magnitude, see Additional magnitude options.
Click OK.
