Predefined Laminate Physical Property dialog box (Simcenter Samcef)
| Physical Property Table | |
|---|---|
| Name | Sets the name of the physical property table. |
| Label | Sets a unique numeric identifier for the physical property table. The number is incremented automatically for the next physical property you create. |
| Properties | |
| Damping Type | Specifies the type of damping. You can choose between a Viscous, a Hysteretic Stiffness Factor or a Hysteretic Flexibility Factor type of damping. |
| Appears when DAMPING is set to Viscous | |
| Viscous Stiffness Factor (ALPHA), Viscous Mass Factor (Beta) | Specifies the stiffness and mass values of the damping. |
| Appears when DAMPING is set to Hysteretic Stiffness Factor | |
| Hysteretic Stiffness Factor (HYST) | Specifies the stiffness proportionality factor of the hysteretic damping. |
| Appears when DAMPING is set to Hysteretic Flexibility Factor | |
| Hysteretic Flexibility Factor (IHYST) | Specifies the flexibility proportionality factor of the hysteretic damping. |
| General tab | |
| Reference Plane to Bottom Surface Distance | Speficies the reference plane location to offset your ply layup. |
| Nonstructural Mass | Specifies the nonstructural mass of the layup. |
| Failure Theory | Specifies the ply failure theory for the whole layup. You can choose between HILL (Hill theory), HOFF (Hoffman theory), TSAI (Tsai-Wu theory) or STRN (Maximum Strain theory). You can also choose NONE if you do not want any failure theory.Note: The chosen ply theory is applied to all the plies of the layup. |
| Plies 1-5, Plies 6-10, Plies 11-15, Plies 16-20 and Plies 21-25 tabs. | |
| Material | Specifies the ply material.Select a material from the list of materials assigned to the model, or click Choose material to define a new material. |
| Thickness | Specifies the ply thickness. |
| Orientation Angle | Specifies the ply orientation in the layup. The Orientation angle is the angle with respect to the material axis of the element. If the material angle on the element connection entry is 0.0, the material axis and side 1-2 of the element coincide. |
