Axisymmetry Target Zone
When your source model contains mixed axisymmetric and non-axisymmetric elements, use the Axisymmetry Target Zone constraint in a target model to ensure that the software maps the temperature of elements in the axisymmetry association zone to the desired elements in the target model.
In the source model, you must first define an axisymmetry association zone, using a Axisymmetry Association Zone type of Mapping constraint. In the target model, you then define the axisymmetry target zone by doing the following:
Select the destination elements or nodes.
Associate the axisymmetry target zone to the corresponding axisymmetry association zone in the source model. The source model is a non-axisymmetric thermal model that contains both non-axisymmetric and axisymmetric meshes. The axisymmetry association zone contains the axisymmetric region.
Temperatures of axisymmetric elements in an axisymmetry association zone in the source model are mapped axisymmetrically around the appropriate axis on the elements or nodes of the corresponding axisymmetry target zone in the target model.
| Source model with axisymmetric region | Target model |
|---|
If you define a mapping target set in your target solution, the nodes and elements of your axisymmetry target zone must be a subset of the mapping target set.
Target zones cannot intersect each other.
