Fan Speed Controller dialog box (Flow/ESC/Multiphysics)
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | Specify a meaningful name for the modeling object. |
| Label | Specify a unique numeric identifier for the modeling object. |
| Description | Specify a description for the modeling object. |
| Sensor | |
| Group Reference | Lets you specify a group of elements to locate the temperature sensor. For more information, see Group Reference options. The solver checks the temperature of the group of elements at each iteration and uses this value to set the speed of the fan. |
| Select Object | Lets you select an object to locate the temperature sensor on elements associated to the object.Excluded lets you remove individual entities from your selected object. The solver checks the temperature of the elements associated to the selected object at each iteration and uses this value to set the speed of the fan. |
| Stacked Smart Selector Methods | Opens the Smart Selector Methods dialog box where you can specify a progression of smart selection filters. For more information, see Smart Selector Methods dialog box. |
| Speed Control | |
| Speed versus Temperature Table | Lets you define the speed as a function of temperature. |
| Scale Factor | Lets you uniformly increase or decrease the dependent variable in a field by the factor you specify. |
| These options are available when the magnitude is defined as Field. | |
|---|---|
| Select Existing Field from List | Lets you select an existing field. |
| Formula Constructor | Lets you use a formula to construct a field. For more information, see Define a boundary condition using a formula field. |
| Table Constructor | Lets you use a table to construct a field. For more information, see Define a boundary condition using a table field and Define a material property using a table field. |
| Link Constructor | Lets you reference an existing field. You can override the field's spatial map to use the field in another location. For more information, see Linked Field dialog box. |
| Plot(XY) | Plots the field as an XY graph. For more information, see: Plot functions, Graph overview, and Edit display properties of graph objects. |
| Overlay(XY) | Available when a plot is already displayed. Overlays a plot on an existing plot. You can overlay up to 50 plots. For more information, see Overlay plots. |
