Specify viewports for displays

Display a post view, post-processing scenario, or graph in the work viewport

  1. Choose Results tab→Layout group→Layout Settings .

  2. Select Active in Work Viewport and click OK.To set the work view:Choose MenuViewOperationSelect Work.In the Select Work View dialog box, double-click the view name in the list box or select the view name and click OK.

Display a post view, post-processing scenario, or graph in the selected viewport

  1. Click Layout Settings .

  2. Select User Selected Viewport and click OK.

Display a post view, post-processing scenario, or XY graph in user-specified viewports

You can predefine preferred viewports for the creation of new post views, post-processing scenarios, or graphs. New post views, post-processing scenarios, or graphs populate the specified viewports according to a set order of precedence.

  1. Click Layout Settings .

  2. Select User Specified Viewport(s).

  3. In the viewport selector, select the preferred viewports for each layout.

  4. Click OK.

Display a graph in a separate window

You can plot graphs in the main graphics window or in a separate window. Choose MenuPreferencesFunction Plot. You can specify whether you want the graphs to be plotted in the main graphics window, a new separate window, or whether you want to be prompted to choose the destination window each time you plot a graph.

  • Main Graphics Window — All graphs are plotted directly in the main graphics window, replacing your model display. To return to the model display, click Return to Model .

  • Separate Graphics Window — All graphs are plotted in a new separate graphics window. Your model continues to display in the main graphics window. To edit the graph, use the editing commands that appear in the Toolbar at the top of the graphics window. When you select this option, you can select these additional options:Prompt — After you plot a graph, and you plot a subsequent graph, the software prompts you to choose an existing graphics window or to create a new window in which to plot the new graph.Always New Window — The software always plots each graph in a new separate graphics window.

  • Both Windows Allowed — Each time you plot a graph, you are prompted to use the main graphics window or create a new separate graphics window. Select Viewport by Cursor — Plots the graph in the main graphics window or in a viewport within the main graphics window that you select.Create New Window — Plots the graph in a new separate graphics window.
