FE Model Correlation and Update

Simcenter 3D FE Model Correlation

Simcenter 3D FE Model Correlation provides the following solution processes.

Pre-test solution process

Uses the finite element model and a normal mode solution to create a list of sensor and exciter locations and directions for modal testing.

Pre-test sensors' location configuration

Correlation solution process

Quantifies the level of agreement between a reference and work solutions with same type of results.

Depending on the type of results, you can use the correlation solution process to compare:

  • Mode or operational shapes generated by two structural analyses or by a structural analysis and a test.Correlation modal assurance criterion results and the mode shape of the work solution

  • Frequency response functions (FRFs) generated by a structural analysis and by a test.Comparison of test and analysis FRFs for an FRF pair

Structural analysis solutions

To use these solution processes, you require a Simulation file containing a solution with the following results:

  • Natural frequencies and mode shapes for a pre-test solution process.

  • Modal or operational shape results for a correlation solution process.

  • Frequency response function results for a correlation solution process.

For more information, see Analysis solution.
