Define a pressure load normal to 2D solid elements

The 2D solid element (normal to edge) pressure load types let you define pressure normal to edges.

  1. Choose Home tab→Loads and Conditions group→Load Type list→Pressure .

  2. In the Pressure dialog box, from the type list, select On 2D Solid Elements (Normal to Edge) ZX or On 2D Solid Elements (Normal to Edge) XY.

  3. In the Model Objects group, click Select Object and select the geometry or FE entity on which to apply the pressure.

  4. In the Magnitude group, from the Method list, select how to specify the magnitude of the pressure:PressureSpecify the load applied with pressure units.Total ForceSpecify the load applied with force units. The software calculates the pressure by distributing the total load over the area defined by revolving the edge 360° about the axisymmetric axis.

  5. Depending on the method you selected to specify the magnitude, enter the Normal Pressure or Normal Force. For more information, see Using fields and expressions to define boundary conditions.

  6. Click OK.
