MATV response
In the Simcenter 3D Noise and Vibration environment, you can use the Modal Acoustic Transfer (MATV) Response solution to compute vibro-acoustic responses of a model that contains both an ATV Set (from a FEM or BEM analysis) and a Mode Set, fluid-structure coupling definition, and Modal Participation Factors (MPFs). An ATV Set replaces a component or assembly FEM file that contains an acoustic domain mesh, but a Mode Set replaces a component or assembly FEM file that contains structural modes.
The MATV response solution can efficiently compute vibro-acoustic pressure, structural modal contributions, MATV contributions, and other quantities in the context of one-way (weak) coupled interior or exterior vibro-acoustic problems.
Note:
MATV contribution results depend on several factors, especially fluid-structure coupling values and structural modes.
You can use MPFs directly from structural solutions that may contain frequency, order, or RPM data stored in a file in Nastran (.op2 or .pch) or Simcenter 3D HDF5 (.sc_h5) results files. However, MPFs in time domain from, for example, Simcenter 3D Motion must be first converted to frequency domain data or waterfall of time data by using the Model and Loads Pre-processing solution process.
Additionally, you can define forcing frequencies and a solution frequency range for the MATV response.
You use the MATV Vibro-Acoustic Output Requests modeling object to specify the types of results to recover from the MATV response solution, such as acoustic pressure, structural modal contributions, or modal participation factors, and post-process them using the Scenario Based Data-Visualization Navigator.
You can also output the following quantities and post-process them:
MATVs
Acoustic pressure
Acoustic intensity
Panel contributions
Modal contributions
You use this method, for example, to compute vibro-acoustic pressure in an automotive cabin that is excited by external loading, and when you are certain that the acoustic effects of the fluid on the structure are negligible.
