Convection in cavity (Simcenter Samcef)
With convection in closed cavities, you can model the thermal exchange in two ways:
You can define a cavity node from which the fluid temperature is automatically retrieved during the computation. On this node, you can add thermal inertia with a Nodal Capacity [T237] element.
You can define a classic convection with the cavity borders as supports. In this case, you must specify:The Convection Coefficient (CONV).The Exponent (EXP) of the convection law.
Where do I find it?
To define the cavity convection, do one of the following:
In the Simulation Navigator, right-click Constraint Container→New Constraint→Cavity Convection.
In the Simulation Navigator under a solution, right-click Constraints→New Constraint→Cavity Convection.
Choose Home tab→Loads and Conditions group→Cavity Convection .
Select geometry. Right-click and choose Create Constraint→Cavity Convection.
