Enforced Acceleration dialog box / Enforced Acceleration Constraint dialog box (Abaqus, ANSYS, Simcenter Samcef)

Type
Type Specifies how the acceleration constraint is defined.Magnitude and Direction Defines an acceleration constraint with a displacement magnitude and a single direction.Normal Defines an acceleration constraint with a displacement magnitude and a +/– direction normal to the selected geometry or element faces. Note: For ANSYS models, use this option when the selected faces are planar and located in the same plane. If they are not, the software uses the direction that is normal to the first element face.Components Defines the acceleration constraint magnitude for each of the six degrees of freedom (DOF). Translational Components – Field Note: Not available for Abaqus or ANSYS.Defines the acceleration constraint magnitude for the translational DOF. With this spatial type, you can map the field directly to a global or local coordinate system.
Destination Folder
Constraint Container Specifies the folder in the Simulation Navigator in which the boundary condition is stored. The list includes the root container and existing folders that you created using the New Folder command. Examples of a root container include Load Container, Constraint Container, and Simulation Object Container.
Folder Manager Displays a hierarchical list of existing folders. To create a new folder, right-click any level of the hierarchy and choose New Folder.
Model Objects
Group Reference Lets you apply the constraint to a group. For more information, see Group Reference options.
Select Object Lets you select the geometry or FE entities to apply the constraint to. ExcludedLets you remove individual entities from within the selected object.
Stacked Smart Selector Methods Opens the Smart Selector Methods dialog box where you can specify a progression of smart selection filters. For more information, see Smart Selector Methods dialog box.
Direction
Specify Vector Appears when Type is set to Magnitude and Direction.Defines the direction of the constraint. For more information, see the Vector dialog box.
Reverse Direction Appears when Type is set to Magnitude and Direction.Reverses the direction of the vector.
Acceleration CSYS Appears when Type is set to Components or Translational Components – Field.Selects the coordinate system used to apply the constraint.Existing uses the displacement coordinate system currently defined for the selected node(s) or associated geometry.
Local Lets you create or select a local coordinate system. For more information, see CSYS dialog box.
Magnitude
Acceleration Appears when Type is set to Normal or Magnitude and Direction.Lets you define the magnitude of the acceleration constraint.
Degrees of freedom
DOF1 through DOF6 Appears when Type is set to Components or Translational Components – Field.Defines the magnitude of the acceleration constraint for each of the DOF. For more information, see Additional magnitude options.
Specify Field Appears when a degree of freedom is set to Field.Lets you select or create a field. The field defines the acceleration magnitude.
Scale Factor For each degree of freedom, defines a scale factor for the acceleration magnitude.
Card Name Displays the name of the solver card for the constraint.
