Pressure dialog box (Abaqus)
| Type | |
|---|---|
| Type | Specifies how the pressure load is defined.Normal on 2D Elements or 3D Element FacesDefines a pressure load normal to element faces. Normal on RegionsDefines a pressure load normal to defined regions. On Beams On Beams – SpatialDefines a pressure load on beams in terms of either the global coordinate system or the element coordinate system. The spatial type lets you map the field directly to a global or local coordinate system. On Axisymmetric Elements (Normal to Edge) XY/On Axisymmetric Elements - Spatial XYAvailable for Structural, Dynamic Explicit, Coupled Thermal-Structural and Dynamic Coupled Thermal-Structural analyses when 2D Solid is set to XY Plane, Y Axis in the Solution dialog box.Defines a pressure load to the edges or side of 2D planar elements. The spatial type lets you map the field directly to a global or local coordinate system. |
| Destination Folder | |
| Load Container | Specifies the folder in the Simulation Navigator in which the boundary condition will be stored. The list includes the root container and existing folders that you created using the New Folder command. Examples of a root container include Load Container, Constraint Container, and Simulation Object Container. |
| Folder Manager | Displays a hierarchical list of existing folders. To create a new folder, right-click any level of the hierarchy and choose New Folder. |
| Model Objects | |
| Group Reference | Lets you apply the pressure load to a group. For more information, see Group Reference options. |
| Select Object | Lets you select the geometry or FE entities on which the load will be applied. ExcludedLets you remove individual entities from within your selected object. |
| Stacked Smart Selector Methods | Opens the Smart Selector Methods dialog box where you can specify a progression of smart selection filters. For more information, see Smart Selector Methods dialog box. |
| Surface | |
| Surface | Lets you select the Region that defines the surface to which to apply the pressure load. You must use an element-based surface definition to define the region.Select an existing region or click New Region to create a new region. See the Region dialog box. |
| Magnitude | |
| Pressure/Normal Pressure (normal pressure types)P1 (beams pressure types) | Specifies the magnitude of the pressure load. For more information, see Additional magnitude options. |
| Specify Field | Appears when Method is set to On Axisymmetric Elements – Spatial XY.Defines how the pressure load is distributed over the elements in a selected area. |
| Scale Factor | Appears when Method is set to On Axisymmetric Elements – Spatial XY.Defines the scale factor. |
| Properties | |
| Appears when Type is set to On Beams or On Beams – Spatial. | |
| Load Type | Defines the type of pressure load in the X, Y, or Z direction of the global coordinate system. For more information, see the *DLOAD topic in the Abaqus Keywords Reference Guide. |
| Distribution | |
| Appears when Type is set to On Beams. | |
| Method | Defines how the pressure load is distributed over the selected objects.ConstantApplies the magnitude to the object as a constant value. SpatialUses a unitless field to map the pressure load to the elements. A field is always mapped to global or Cartesian coordinates, even if it was defined in cylindrical, or spherical coordinates. |
| Distribution Field | |
| Appears when Method is set to On Beams – Spatial. | |
| Specify Field | Defines how the pressure load is distributed over the elements in the selected area. |
| Scale Factor | Defines the scale factor for the beam element. |
| Card Name | Displays the name of the solver card for the load. |
