Nodal Force Reports on Path dialog box
| Forces | |
|---|---|
| Force Type | Specifies the forces to include in the nodal force reports on path. |
| Elements | |
| Appears when Force Type is set to Grid Point. Lets you select the elements to include. You can select different entities in the model, such as curves and faces, and the software finds the elements associated with the entities. | |
| All Elements | Includes all elements in the model in the nodal force calculation. |
| Select Groups | Lets you select a group to define the elements. The software uses the elements associated with the entities in the group as the nodal force report definition. For more information, see Group Reference options. |
| Select Object | Lets you select entities in the model. The software uses the elements associated with the entities as the nodal force report definition. |
| Stacked Smart Selector Methods | Opens the Smart Selector Methods dialog box where you can specify a progression of smart selection filters. For more information, see Smart Selector Methods dialog box. |
| Labels | Sets the element IDs to select. You can type IDs one at a time, or as a space-delimited list. After you type the IDs, click Select to select the specified elements. |
| Nodes | |
| Lets you select the nodes on which the nodal force reports on path is calculated. | |
| All Nodes | Includes all nodes in the model in the nodal force reports on path.Note: Even when you select this check box, the only nodes included in the nodal force reports on path are those at each of the vertices of a query curve and a Z-direction tolerance. All nodes within the tolerance are included in the nodal force reports on path. |
| Select Groups | Lets you select a group to define the nodes in the nodal force reports on path. For more information, see Group Reference options. |
| Select Object | Lets you select entities in the model. The software uses the nodes associated with the selected entities. |
| Stacked Smart Selector Methods | Opens the Smart Selector Methods dialog box where you can specify a progression of smart selection filters. For more information, see Smart Selector Methods dialog box. |
| Labels | Sets the node IDs to select. You can type IDs one at a time, or as a space-delimited list. After you type the IDs, click Select to select the specified nodes. |
| Path | |
| Curve Name | Specifies the query curve to use. Click New Query Curve to create a new query curve.Click Reverse Direction to change the direction of a selected query curve. For more information, see Using query curves to define paths. |
| Curve Usage | Not available for nodal force reports on path. The query curve is set to Use Vertices, which uses the vertices of the query curve in the nodal force calculation. |
| Preview | Displays the entities that make up the query curve. |
| Direction | |
| CSYS | Specifies the coordinate system in which the software should report the nodal force calculations. |
| Specify CSYS | Available when CSYS is set to Cartesian, Cylindrical, or Spherical.Lets you select an existing coordinate system to use as the frame of reference for the results. |
| Tolerance | |
| Z Tolerance | Sets a Z-direction tolerance for nodes included in the nodal force reports on path. For grid point force, the software includes all nodes in the +Z and -Z directions of the specified tolerance within the plane of influence. For all other forces, such as applied and reaction, the software includes all nodes in the +Z and -Z directions of the specified tolerance. Note: The local Z-direction is for a particular integration point on the query curve that is tangent to that point. Z tolerance is, therefore, the neighborhood defined in that direction. |
