Durability > Durability results for the event-based analysis
Files created by the durability solver
For each static and transient event and for each durability solution process, the durability solver creates an XML file, an FTL file, and a BUD or a BUN file.
XML files
Durability event or durability solution process input files. These files are created each time an event or a durability solution process is solved. When you copy model files to another folder, you do not need to copy the XML ones.
FTL files
Durability solver scratch files. These files are read and they information is displayed in the Information window when you use the Show Solution Log command. To access this command, right-click the durability solution process node or the event nodes.
BUD files
Durability solver result files. These files are used in Pre/Post post-processing to display durability result sets. You must also load the parent solution result files.
BUN files
Durability solver result files that also contain geometry. These files are used in post-processing to display durability result sets. You do not need to load parent solution result files. To generate BUN files, set the Save Geometry in Results Files customer default.
Tip:
To find a customer default, choose File tab→Utilities→Customer Defaults, and click Find Default .
For durability events, the format of the name for all file types is as follows:
[simulation name]-[durability solution process name]-[durability event name]
Example:
muffler_sim-Durability_1-Static_Event_1.xml
muffler_sim-Durability_1-Static_Event_1.ftl
muffler_sim-Durability_1-Static_Event_1.bud
muffler_sim-Durability_1-Static_Event_1.bun
For a durability solution process, the format of the name for all file types is as follows:
[simulation name]-[durability solution process name]
Example:
muffler_sim-Durability_1.xml
muffler_sim-Durability_1.ftl
muffler_sim-Durability_1.bud
muffler_sim-Durability_1.bun
The durability solver creates the files in the folder that contains the FEM and Simulation files.
