Meshing > 3D swept meshing > Sweeping a cohesive mesh between bodies
Create a 3D swept cohesive mesh between bodies.
Choose Home tab→Mesh group→3D Swept Mesh .
In the 3D Swept Mesh dialog box, from the Types list, select Manual Between.
Click Select Source Face to select one or more faces of the source body from which to sweep the mesh.
Click Select Target Face to select one or more target faces of the target body to which to sweep the mesh. The target faces must be in another body than the source faces.
Use the Match Loops options to explicitly define the edge correspondence and directions. For each loop in the source face, you must specify:The correspondence between an edge on the source face and an edge on the target face. The direction of the correspondence between the edge on the source face and the edge on the target face. The direction itself does not matter for creating the dependent mesh, but the direction must be the same for the source and the target edges.
In the Element Properties group, from the Type list, select the cohesive elements.
If the source face you selected is unmeshed, enter an element size in the Source Element Size box, or click to have the software suggest an element size.Note: If the source face you selected is meshed, the software uses the size of elements in that mesh to generate the swept elements.
If you sweep cohesive elements between 2D bodies, use Reverse Elements Orientation to change the normal of the cohesive elements.
(Optional) Click Preview to preview the results.
Click OK or Apply to generate the mesh.
