Physical properties and element attributes > Element and mesh attributes
Add mesh-associated data
During the process of creating your mesh, in the meshing dialog box, click Edit Mesh Associated Data .Note: Alternatively, you can add mesh associated data (or edit existing associated data) after creating the mesh. In the Simulation Navigator or in the graphics window, right-click the mesh and choose Edit Mesh Associated Data.
In the Mesh Associated Data dialog box, enter the appropriate element attribute values. For more information, see Mesh Associated Data dialog box.
(Optional) If the solver type is ANSYS, select a KEYOPT name from the KEYOPT list. Alternately, click Create Modeling Object and define KEYOPT values in the Modeling Objects Manager dialog box.
If you want any element-associated data (attributes data defined on individual elements) to override the mesh-associated data, leave the Use Element Associated Data check box selected. For example, this option is useful when some elements in the mesh need a different material orientation than the rest of the elements in the mesh.
Click OK or Apply.
