Update a material with changes from the library definition

When a material definition has been changed in your material library, you may want to update that material in the model in which it has been loaded and used. You can use customer defaults to specify that loaded materials are updated automatically with library changes when the model is loaded. Or, you can update a loaded material manually.

Automatic method

  1. Select FileUtilitiesCustomer Defaults.

  2. Select GatewayMaterials/Mass.

  3. Click the Miscellaneous tab.

  4. Select the Update Material Properties from Library on Part Load check box.

  5. Click OK.You must restart the software for the changes to take effect.

Manual method

  1. Choose MenuToolsMaterialsManage Materials.

  2. In the Materials list, right-click the loaded material to update and choose Update Material.

  3. Close the materials dialog box.
