Create and assign control nodes

Note:

Control nodes are intended for advanced users. For more information, see Control nodes.

  1. Make your FEM or assembly FEM file the work part and the displayed part.

  2. Choose Nodes and Elements tab→Nodes group→Node Create .

  3. Click in the graphics window and drag the node to your preferred location, or enter explicit coordinates. You can place the node anywhere as long as it is not connected to your model. If you plan to assign this control node to other CJOINTs, place it in a location that is easy to remember and access.

  4. Click OK to close the Node Create dialog box.

  5. To change the node display to make it more visible, in the Top Border bar, click Node Marker Drop-down.

  6. To assign the control node to a kinematic joint element, do the following:Under the Cjoint Collector, right-click a CJOINT connection mesh and choose Edit Mesh Associated Data.If you plan to assign the control node to multiple CJOINTs, make sure that the CJOINTs are of the same type as set in PJOINT.In the Edit Mesh Associated Data dialog box, click Select Control Node and in the graphics windows, click the node you just created.Click OK.
