Adjusting solver parameters (Simcenter Samcef)

Use Simcenter Samcef Solver Parameters to define general parameters for the Simcenter Samcef solvers. In the Parameters group→Solver Memory tab, you can specify:

  • Solver Executable — Lets you specify the path to a Simcenter Samcef installation folder. You can either use the UGII_SAMCEF environment variable or specify the path to a Simcenter Samcef installation folder.

  • Solver Memory (in MB) — Lets you specify the memory for the Simcenter Samcef solvers. You can either use the UGII_SAM_ZONE environment variable or specify a value.

  • Solver Monitor — Lets you enable the Solution Monitoring and modify its behavior. For more information, see Solution monitoring (Simcenter Samcef).

  • Parallel — Lets you enable the Distributed Memory Parallel computation mode (DMP) and modify its behavior. For more information, see Parallel processing (Simcenter Samcef).

  • Multithreading — Lets you enable the Shared Memory Parallel computation mode (SMP) and modify its behavior. For more information, see Parallel processing (Simcenter Samcef).

  • Temporary Files — Lets you keep super elements computation temporary files if you want to compute results and perform a recombination.

Where do I find it?

To define Solver Parameters, do one of the following in a simulation:

  • In the Simulation Navigator, right-click the Solution and choose Edit Solver Parameters.

  • Choose Home tab→Solution group→Solve . On the Solve dialog box, click Edit Solver Parameters.
