Importing functions to fields or expressions (Simcenter Samcef)

You can import Simcenter Samcef .FCT functions but with some limitations.

Supported .FCT functions types

You can import the following function types:

Samcef .FCT type Supported parameters Notes
X-Y Tabulated ABS, ORDOCOUPLES Imported as table fields.Functions up to 3 variables: CREE VALEURS Y U [V] [W].
Polynomial BORNES, POLBORNES, PO2 Imported as expressions.Only functions of 1 variable: CREE VALEURS Y U.
Analytical BORNES, ANALYTIC "...." Imported as expressions.
Constant BORNES, CON Imported as expressions.
Linear BORNES, LIN Imported as expressions.
Quadratic BORNES, QUA Imported as expressions.
Sine BORNES, SIN Imported as expressions.
Cosine BORNES, COS Imported as expressions.

For analytical functions, the following math operators are supported:

For more information on these operators, see Mathematical functions in expressions.

Piecewise .FCT functions

You can import piecewise functions if each piece's definition only uses one of the following parameters:

  • ANALYTIC

  • CON, LIN, QUAD, SIN, or COS

  • POL or POL2

Note:

You cannot use X-Y tabulated definitions in a piecewise function.

Domains support

The following table describes the supported Simcenter Samcef dependency domains.

Samcef domain Pre/Post domain
TIME Time
TEMP Temperature
CUR Degree of cure
GLT Glass transition temperature

The following Simcenter Samcef domains are not supported:

Samcef domain Notes
TMOY Average temperature
TBUL Bulk (fluid) temperature
CRYS Degree of crystalization
PRAN Prandt number
REY Reynolds number
VTEMP Cooling rate

For more information, see the Samcef .FCT command.
