Create a Joint-Orbital Tracker modeling object

  1. Choose Home tab→Loads and Conditions group→Modeling Objects , then in the Modeling Objects Manager dialog box, select Joint-Orbital Tracker and click Create.

  2. In the Joint-Orbital Tracker dialog box, define the Rotation Axis by specifying a vector and a point on the axis, using standard methods.

  3. In the Alignment group, use Specify Vector to specify an alignment vector that points toward one of the options in the Align with list.

  4. From the Orbit list, select a previously defined Orbit modeling object, or create a new one by clicking Create Modeling Object. You can also select All Active Orbits from the Orbit list, so that the Joint-Orbital Tracker modeling object applies to any orbit in an analysis. See Orbit for more information.

  5. (Optional) Identify the parent joint of a compound articulation by selecting it from the Select Joint list, or creating a new parent joint by clicking Open Manager.

  6. Click OK.
