Exporting nodes as fluid grid points
In Pre/Post, you cannot directly designate nodes as fluid grid points for coupled fluid-structural analyses. However, when you export or solve your model, the software checks each node to determine whether it belongs to a solid element that is assigned a fluid material (MAT10 bulk data entry).
If the element’s PSOLID physical property references a fluid material, the software writes out a value of -1 for the CD field (field 7) on the corresponding GRID bulk data entry. This designates the node as a fluid grid point.
Note:
The existing displacement coordinate system specified in the CD field must be the BASIC (0) coordinate system. Otherwise, the software issues an error during the export process.
For more information, see:
- GRID in the Simcenter Nastran Quick Reference Guide.
