Create a panel

In a Simcenter Nastran or Simcenter 3D Noise and Vibration vibro-acoustic analysis, a panel lets you specify 2D structural elements on which to request panel contributions to pressure responses.

  1. In the Simulation Navigator, right-click the Simulation Objects container of the active solution and select New Simulation ObjectPanel.

  2. In the Panel dialog box, enter a name and label, or use the defaults.

  3. From the type list, select the type of panel to define.

  4. For Panel on 2D Elements, Panel on 2D Structural Elements, and Panel on Nodes/Element Faces panel types, define the panel in one of the following ways:By selecting the object:Click .From the method list, select the method by which you want to create a panel. In the graphics window, select the element face on the model object.By referencing a group:Select the Group Reference check box.Click to create a new group.See Create a group by manually selecting the contents for more details. You can also select existing groups from the model objects table.

  5. From the Filter Type list, select the element types to exclude from the selected object.

  6. For the Panel on 2D Physical Property Tables panel type, define the panel by clicking .See Physical properties and element attributes to define the physical properties for the panel.

  7. In the Physical Property Table Manager dialog box, in the Distribution group, from the Method list, select the distribution method.

  8. Click OK to create the new panel.

A new panel is added under the Simulation Objects Container.
