Clone a Response Dynamics solution process

  1. In the Simulation Navigator, right-click the Response Dynamics solution process and choose Clone. If you are cloning an obsolete solution process, the following message appears: The modal shape file is not consistent with the previous definition.

  2. Click OK to proceed with the cloning.

  3. If you clone an obsolete solution process, verify that your excitations and any sensors or strain gages are still valid.

The new solution process contains the following items from the original solution process:

  • All events

  • All excitations that are consistent with the mode shapes in the original solution process.

  • All sensors and strain gages.

  • Modal settings for damping and the list of active modes. Note: When you clone an obsolete solution process, and the current modal solution contains more modes than the previous modal solution, the user-defined damping for the new modes defaults to 0 and the new modes are considered active for the solution process.

Results are not copied when you clone a solution process.
