Export of regions (Simcenter Samcef)

Regions are exported automatically as Samcef .SEL groups.

In the Simcenter Samcef environment, you can define two types of regions:

  • You can define the standard regions that are used for many Pre/Post entities, such as in loads or simulation objects.Region.SEL groups syntaxNode Region.SEL GROUP NOEUD.Element Region.SEL GROUP MAILLE.Element Face Region.SEL GROUP FACE (only faces of 3D volumes)Element Edge RegionOnly for edges of 2D elements..SEL GROUP FACE (only edges of 2D elements). These regions contain FEM entities and are always exported in the Simcenter Samcef input file.

  • Specific regions that you can use only in simulation objects. Unlike the standard FEM based regions, these regions may contain CAD entities.Region.SEL groups syntaxSurface Region (Region)Edge Region (Edge Region (BEDGE))These regions are exported only if you use them in simulation objects that also are exported.Depending on the context of their use and their contents, they are exported as groups of nodes (.SEL GROUP NOEUD), groups of elements (.SEL GROUP MAILLE) or groups of faces (.SEL GROUP FACE).
