Cyclic Options dialog box (ANSYS)

Properties
Use Default Setting Applies the default settings for all options to the solution.
Reuse array parameter names Controls whether the software reuses cyclic sector array parameter names.
Expand and combine all harmonic index solutions For linear static cyclic symmetry solutions with non-cyclic symmetric loading, expands and combines all harmonic indexed solutions and writes them to the results file during the solution phase of the analysis.
Tolerances
Inclusion Tolerance of Surface Nodes Specifies the tolerance value that the software uses to determine whether to include the surface nodes in the basic sector in te analysis. Specify a value for this option when the section includes extreme cut angles or complex geometry that might cause the software to exclude the surface nodes with the default value (15°).
Tolerance on Node Pairs Low-High Edge Specifies the tolerance value that the software uses to match the nodes on the high edge with the nodes on the low edge.
Maximum Allowable Angle Tolerance Specifies the maximum allowable angle value.
Harmonic Index
Harmonic Index Option Controls the harmonic index solution ranges for modal analyses. In static and harmonic analyses, the software uses all harmonic indices required for the applied loads.Select (ALL) Solve all applicable indices to solve all applicable harmonic indices.Select Input values to specify the range of harmonic indices to solve for.
**Lower Harmonic Index Range (Value 1)**Higher Harmonic Index Range (Value 2) Available if Harmonic Index Option is set to Input values.Lets you specify the lower and upper bounds on the range of harmonic indices to solve for.
Harmonic Index Range in Steps of (Value 3) Lets you specify an increment value. For example, if you specify a value of 2, the software solves every 2 harmonic indices between the specified lower and upper index values.
Solve Only Specified Harmonic Indices In static and harmonic analyses, directs the software to solve only the specified harmonic indices even if a load may have a Fourier contribution in an index that is not specified.
Fourier Contribution Tolerance of a Load Available if Solve Only Specified Harmonic Indices is selected.Lets you specify the tolerance value that the software uses to determine whether a Fourier contribution of a load contributes to the response.
Restrict Loads to Sector Number Limits subsequently defined force and surface loads to the sector that you specify.Note: This option does not apply to Harmonic - Mode Superposition analyses.
Move High or Low Edge Within Tolerance Controls whether the software can move high or low edge component nodes paired within the specified tolerance to create precisely matched pairs.Select (0) Do not move edge nodes to prevent the software from moving edge loads.Select (1) Move high edge nodes to allow the software to move nodes on the high edge.Select (-1) Move low edge nodes to allow the software to move nodes on the low edge.
Allow Automatic Node Rotation on Edge Controls whether the software can override automatic nodal rotations to edge components and allow you to manually apply those rotations.Select (0) Allowto allow automatic node rotation.Select (1) Suppress all (manual rotation required) to suppress automatic nodal rotation. You must apply appropriate rotations to all edge component nodes or your analysis will produce incorrect results.Select (LOW) Suppress Low Edge Only to suppress automatic rotation of low-edge component nodes only. this allows you to apply rotations to these nodes manually.Select (HIGH) Suppress High Edge Only to suppress automatic rotation of high-edge component nodes only. this allows you to apply rotations to these nodes manually.
Modal Cyclic Symmetry Results Written For modal analyses, limits the results written to the .MODE and .RST files to prepare for a subsequent mode superposition-based analysis.Select (0) For basic and duplicate sectors to write results for basic and duplicate sectors to the .MODE and .RST files.Select (1) Only basic sector for subsequent mode-superposition analysis to write only the ba sic sector results to the .MODE and .RST files.
Employ Variational Technology Controls whether the software uses variational technology to speed up the cyclic solution.
