Creating a specialist durability solution process
Use the Durability Solution command to create a specialist durability solution process by specifying the analysis template, specialist durability simulation objects, load event, and optionally a material containing durability properties.
Stress and strain life are the two most commonly used durability analysis templates. Generally, the stress life analysis is appropriate for high cycle fatigue and the strain life analysis is appropriate for low-cycle fatigue. Dedicated analysis templates are available for seam welds, spot welds as well as long and short fiber composite materials.
When you specify a local material for a specialist durability solution process, you can plot its stress life or strain life material properties.
Solving a specialist durability solution process
Use the Solve command to define solving options, edit the solution process attributes, and select a solver profile. You can choose to solve the active specialist durability solution process along with its function definitions, or solve the solution process’s function definitions only.
To check the specialist solution process setup without running the solution process, use the Model Check command. It opens an information window that lists any issue found in the solution process setup.
