Define a pressure load on beams (Simcenter Samcef)

The On beams pressure type lets you define a pressure load on beams.

  1. Choose Home tab→Loads and Conditions group→Pressure .

  2. In the Pressure dialog box, select On beams from the Type list.

  3. In the Model Objects group, click Select Object and select the geometry or FE entity to which the pressure will be applied.

  4. In the Components group, define the magnitude in one of these ways:Select Expressions to use a constant value or expression to define the magnitude for each of the components. The Px, Py, and Pz values are expressed in the absolute coordinate system.Select Field to define a pressure magnitude that varies with time. For each component, choose a scale factor.

  5. Click OK.The load is applied to the model.

Note:

In Simcenter Samcef, pressures on beams act on the center of gravity of the element, not on its shear center.
