Failure Envelope Display dialog box

Plot Selection
Layer	Specifies the ply for which the failure envelope is displayed in the plot area.
Tau 12	Controls the value of the in-plane shear stress, τ12.The limits of the Tau 12 slider correspond to the in-plane shear strength for the selected ply’s material.
Ply 1 --- Tau12 = 0.000e+000 mm^4/mN^2
The displayed group name depends on the ply that you selected from the Layer list and the value of the in-plane shear stress that you specified using the Tau 12 slider.
Plot area	Displays the ply failure envelope that shows how much stress a ply can withstand under combined loading.The shape of the envelope depends on the failure theory and the allowable strengths of the ply material. The size of the envelope varies with the amount of in-plane shear stress.
