Point Ray Source dialog box

Type
Type Specifies the type of point ray source.
Name
Name Sets the name of the point ray source.
Description Sets the description for the point ray source.
Destination Folder
Simulation Object Container Specifies the folder in the Simulation Navigator in which to store the acoustic point ray source. The list includes the root container and folders that you created using the New Folder command in the Simulation Object Container.
Folder Manager Displays a hierarchical list of folders. To create a new folder, right-click any level of the hierarchy and choose New Folder.
Location
Specify Point Specifies the spatial location of the acoustic point ray source.Select a node or a point on the mesh in the graphics window, or click Point Dialog to open the Point dialog box, where you can define the location of the acoustic point ray source in several different ways. For more information, see Point dialog box.
Magnitude
Specifies the constant complex excitation with real and imaginary parts, constant complex excitation with magnitude and phase angle, or the frequency-dependent complex field values.
Magnitude Type Sets the type of magnitude. You can choose Power or Pressure.
Power in dB Appears when Magnitude Type is set to Power.Lets you enter Real/Imaginary, Magnitude/Phase, or Field values in dB with respect to the standard power reference (1.E-12 Watt).
Pressure in dB Appears when Magnitude Type is set to Pressure.Lets you enter Real/Imaginary, Magnitude/Phase, or Field values in dB with respect to the standard pressure reference (2.E-5 Pascal).
Real Appears when Pressure or Power is set to Real/Imaginary.Sets the real component value of the selected magnitude type.
Imaginary Appears when Pressure or Power is set to Real/Imaginary.Sets the imaginary component value of the selected magnitude type.
Magnitude Appears when Pressure or Power is set to Magnitude/Phase.Sets the magnitude value of the selected magnitude type.
Phase Appears when Pressure or Power is set to Magnitude/Phase.Sets the phase angle value of the selected magnitude type.
Specify Field Appears when Pressure or Power is set to Field.Specifies the frequency-dependent complex field values. For information about included options, see Additional magnitude options.
Scale Factor Appears when Pressure or Power is set to Field.Sets the scaling of values present in the field.
Directionality
Enable Directionality Lets you specify the directionality with complex spherical coordinates as a scaling factor that applies to the source magnitude at the given direction.
Specify Field Appears when the Enable Directionality check box is selected.Specifies the complex dimensionless values that depend on frequencies and the angles theta ({\theta }) and phi ({\phi }). The complex spherical coordinates act as a scaling factor that applies to the source magnitude at the given direction.Spherical coordinate systemNote: {\phi } must be between:0 and 180 degrees when type is set to Spherical.0 and 90 degrees when type is set to Hemispherical. When you specify the spherical coordinates {\theta } and {\phi }, and frequencies: Inside the range of the table field, the software performs a linear interpolation.Outside the range of the table field, the software performs a constant extrapolation. For information about included options, see Additional magnitude options.
Scale Factor Appears when the Enable Directionality check box is selected.Sets the scaling of values present in the field.
CSYS Appears when Type is set to Spherical and the Enable Directionality check box is selected.Specifies the directionality reference XYZ vectors, where Z is the radiating direction.
DirectionAppears when type is set to Hemispherical.
Specify CSYS Defines the direction of an acoustic point ray source. Z is the radiating direction. For more information, see CSYS dialog box.
Time Delay
Enable Time Delay Defines the time delay of the point ray source.
Value Appears when the Enable Time Delay check box is selected.Sets the constant time delay value. For more information, see Additional magnitude options.
