| Breeding Proportions (cont. chrom.) | |
|---|---|
| Two Point Crossover | Lets you enter the relative weight of the two point crossover operator used to create children designs for the continuous design variables. The sum of the two point and arithmetic crossover weights must be equal to 1.0. |
| Arithmetic Crossover | Lets you enter the relative weight of the arithmetic crossover operator used to create children designs for the continuous design variables. The sum of the two point and arithmetic crossover weights must be equal to 1.0. |
| Basic Mutation Probabilities | |
| Multi-Mutations | Lets you enter the multiple mutation operator that defines the probability for gene mutation. This value should be relatively low to avoid losing good characteristics of current designs. |
| Boundary Mutations | Lets you enter the probability of boundary mutation to occur. This operation is performed only when you select continuous design variables. A boundary mutation is the creation of a new design by applying to a continuous design variable the minimum or maximum value defined in Design Variable Specification dialog box. |
| Non-Uniform Mutations | Lets you enter the probability of non-uniform mutation to occur. This operation is performed only when you select continuous design variables. Using this mutation, the new value for the design variable is based on the generation age. The search space shrinks from a global to a local space when the number of generations increases. |
| Other Mutation Probabilities | |
| Permutations | Lets you enter the probability for the permutation to occur. This operator swaps the position of two genes of an individual. It is useful for mixing up the design variables to determine, for example, the optimal stacking sequence. |
| Ply Addition | Lets you enter the probability for the ply addition to occur. This operator is used when the number of plies is a design variable. |
| Ply Deletion | Lets you enter the probability for the ply deletion to occur. This operator is used when the number of plies is a design variable. |
