Requesting output at section points (Abaqus)

Use the All Section Points check box available in an Abaqus output requests modeling object to output results at all section points in shell, beam, or layered solid elements. If you do not select the All Section Points check box, the software outputs only the results at the default section output points, for example, the points on the bottom and top surfaces of the shell section or the points closest to the bottom and top surfaces.

Note:

  • You cannot select All Section Points for Axisymmetric Dynamic Explicit solutions because shell, beam, and layered solid elements are not available in that solution.

  • Selecting All Section Points is only valid for output variables requested to the output database (ODB).

  • In dynamic solutions, Section Points for Layered Shell Elements is set to either Use Defaults or Specify-ALL, which are equivalent because output is provided at all section points in Abaqus Dynamic Explicit analyses by default.
