Physical Damping Options
Viscous Damping Uses physical (non-modal) viscous damping (calculated by Simcenter Nastran) in the analysis. You must have used CDAMP1, CDAMP2, CVISC, or CBUSH elements in your model before solving for the normal modes. For more information about Simcenter Nastran damping calculations, see Damping.
Hysteretic Damping Uses physical hysteretic damping (calculated by Simcenter Nastran) in the analysis. You must do one of the following before solving for the normal modes:Use CELAS, CELAS2, or CBUSH elements in your model.Define the G solver parameter in the solution. Define the Structural Damping Coefficient (GE) in the materials record.
Scale Factor Scales the Simcenter Nastran physical damping ratio by the factor you enter.
