Modifying CAE file attributes

The Edit command in the Simulation Navigator enables you to modify the defining attributes of the Simulation file, the FEM file, and the idealized part file.

When you edit these files, you revisit the steps you used to create them.

Editing the FEM file and idealized part file attributes

In the Simulation Navigator, right-click the Simulation node and choose Edit to modify the following attributes of the FEM file and associated idealized part file:

  • You can modify which bodies in the master part to include in the idealized part and FEM file. Select Edit bodies to use and specify an option.Note: The idealized part must be loaded to modify these attributes.

  • You can modify the non-part geometry options for the FEM file.

  • You can modify the specified solver and analysis type.

  • You can modify the FEM file's description.

Editing the Simulation file attributes

In the Simulation Navigator, right-click the Simulation node and choose Edit to modify the Simulation file's description.
