Post-processing Macro (Simcenter Samcef Thermal)
You can use the Post-Processing Macro simulation object to request the computation of specific results on a selection of elements (Macro Element for Elements type), or on faces/edges (Macro Element for Faces/Edges type).
For instance, you can compute the average temperature variation rate on selected elements or the total capacitive flux on a selection of faces.
When you define a Post-Processing Macro object, you create a Samcef macro element that you place on the model (Position parameter). An extra node is created at this position.
Post-Processing Macro on elements
When you create a Post-Processing Macro object of the Macro Element for Elements type and select 2D membranes, you can use the Position (FACE) list to select the Top of the Support or the Bottom of the Support position for the selected 2D membrane.
You can also select the n/a option to create a macro that does not promote the top or the bottom of the 2D membranes. Therefore, the macro computes global results over the entire thickness of the membranes.
When you create a Post-Processing Macro object of the Macro Element for Elements type, you can request the following results on the elements:
| Group | Results |
|---|---|
| Applied Heat Loads | Applied Surface Power, Convection Power, Resultant Radiation Power, Absorbed Radiation Power, Emitted Radiation Power, Applied Volume Power.Enabled by default: Total Applied Power. |
| Structural | Volume of the Macro Element, Mass of the Macro Element.Enabled by default: Minimum Temperature, Maximum Temperature. |
| Average | Capacity Weighted Average Temperature, Mass Weighted Average Temperature, Volume Integrated Volumetric Capacity. |
| Global | Internal Power, Externally Applied Power, Capacitive Power, Capacitive Energy (Time Integrated Capacitive Power). |
On the macro's node, you can also request the following result:
| Group | Results |
|---|---|
| Result on Node | Enabled by default: Average Temperature |
You can select the Thermo-couple option to force the macro's node to act as a thermocouple. For more information, see the THCP parameter of the Samcef macro element.
Post-Processing Macro on faces/edges
When you create a Post-Processing Macro object of the Macro Element for Faces/Edges type, you can request the following results:
| Group | Results |
|---|---|
| Applied Heat Loads | Applied Surface Power, Convection Power, Resultant Radiation Power, Absorbed Radiation Power, Emitted Radiation Power, Applied Volume Power.Enabled by default: Total Applied Power. |
